CAR RENTAL:

Preferably rent a car or a good campervan (caravan) in Alice Springs and set out to discover. 4WD vehicles make it more expensive to drive on tarred roads but allow you to get out more safely onto unpaved roads and explore the often troubled paths of the Australian Outback.

The lowest price for car rental is around 20 euros per day, with insurance included and in low season. Prices for caravans equipped to sleep and cook on board start at €40 per day, including insurance. Approximately twice as much if they are 4WD. A jeep starts at 60 euros per day. In addition to these expenses, gasoline costs almost half of what it costs in Portugal.

OTHER SOLUTIONS:

As an alternative to renting a car, sign up for one of the tour agencies operating in the Northern Territory departing from Alice Springs. You already know that, in this case, you will only be able to stop at the places covered by the itinerary.
