The Portuguese founded Gurué in the 1930th century and, from XNUMX onwards, flooded it with
camellia sinensis the foothills of the Namuli Mountains. Later, they renamed it Vila Junqueiro, in honor of its main promoter. With the independence of
Mozambique and the civil war, the town regressed. It continues to stand out for the lush green imposing mountains and teak landscapes.
