Situated in the state of Assam, south of the great
Brahmaputra river, PN Kaziranga occupies a vast area of alluvial swamp. Two-thirds of the
rhinocerus unicornis around the world, there are around 100 tigers, 1200 elephants and many other animals. Pressured by human proximity and the inevitable poaching, this precious park has not been able to protect itself from the hyperbolic floods of the monsoons and from some controversies.
